Paterson Revolver

Manufactured at the Patent Arms Manufacturing Company in Paterson, New Jersey, the Paterson Revolving Pistol was produced from 1836 to 1842. This firearm represents the first revolving pistol marketed and produced by Samuel Colt. A five-shot revolver with folding trigger and graceful .36 caliber barrel, this firearm is reproduced in its most popular form, large frame with 7 1/2" barrel length and with or without loading lever. It is sometimes called the "Texas" Paterson, a name it earned through its preference as a sidearm on the frontier in Texas.
